"Recharge in pit"
How would one calculate the recharge rate in a pit the shape of a cylinder knowing the size of the cylinder, the hydaulic conductivity, and the pumping rate.

As a first approximation:

Q=AV

where Q is recharge/discharge, A is area of pit (walls and floor) and

V=Kdh/dz

where K is conductivity and dh/dz is difference in water level between water in pit and "water table" (water level in surrounding formation).
