Who ever heard of Eureka Environmental Engineering?

Almost no one. In fact, this is Eureka Environmental Engineering's first ever widespread communication - you're making history just by reading it. Eureka is a new company whose claim to fame is 150 years of experience in designing, building, marketing, and supporting water-quality monitoring instrumentation. Eureka's mission:
Eureka will develop and market the industry's most innovative and reliable tools, systems, and services for collecting and managing credible water-resources data.
Eureka will be known for the industry's highest customer satisfaction, integrity, and technical excellence.
Bottom line: We'll make your job easier. Eureka will provide water quality professionals with the most reliable and easy-to-use tools available.

Does Eureka have a real office and employees and stuff?

Actually, we've cornered the market on industry experience and skill. We've been working on Eureka since 9 February 2002, and now have offices at 5555 North Lamar, Suite L-131, Austin, Texas, 78751. Some of the early Eureka employees are:

Stuart Garner, P.E. - Principal and president. Stuart is an environmental engineer with over 30 years experience in the water-quality instrumentation industry. He's president because he lost the one-potato, two-potato contest.

Terry Harris - Principal and manager of inside sales. In her previous life, Terry managed inside sales for a well-known provider or water-quality products until she succumbed to terminal frustration.

Gary Miller - Principal and director of operations. Gary has years of experience, most of it good, in the water-resources industry in customer support, instrumentation manufacturing, and quality-control badgering.

Brad Krimmel - Principal and director of marketing. Brad holds a University of Texas MBA in marketing and was for several years recently the director of marketing for a manufacturer of white-and-blue water-quality instruments. We hired him anyway.

Dr. Darrell Word, P.E. - Principal and engineering advisor. Darrell teaches analog electronics part-time at the University of Texas to ungrateful students who think there's no money in analog. Darrell comes to Eureka with decades of experience in instrumentation design and testing.

We're moving to a bigger space in March, where we will build the industry's best product-testing and performance-evaluation laboratory, and expand our engineering area.

You guys got any products yet?

Thought you'd never ask. Our first product, Eureka EasyDataTM environmental data management software, will be released in a few weeks. This Windows-based package allows you to easily download data from your Hydrolab® or YSI® instruments, and quickly format and graph the data - without having to export to Excel. You can edit unwanted data, append calibration and maintenance records to the data, and even automatically correct the data for sensor drift. It's a powerful software package designed for those of us who need to do our jobs instead of making a career out of learning software. Stay tuned.

Tell Me More! Where can I find more information about Eureka?

Please visit our new Web site at www.EurekaEnvironmental.com. We will be adding new information weekly, so be sure to bookmark the site. By the way, we know the domain name is a little long and hard to type, so we are looking for a shorter moniker. Send us a suggestion (feedback@eurekaenvironmental. com) (keep it clean) and if we use it, we'll send you a new Dell PDA. Any of the other instrument manufacturers ever offer you that kind of deal?

Software is nice, but what else are you guys working on?

EasyData will be on the market, and we will continue to improve and customize EasyData for your applications. But we don't think that will pay all of the bills, so we have a few other projects up our sleeve. While we can't say exactly what we are up to, in the next 90 days you will here about one of the following from Eureka:

Eureka introduces new line of ladies shoes.
Eureka steals technology from former presidential candidate and re-invents the Internet.
Eureka introduces new line of vacuum cleaners.
Eureka invites water-quality professionals to send in instruments for exhaustive performance testing in Eureka's first-class, water-quality instrument testing facility.
Eureka publishes a very short treatise on French military triumphs.
Please let us know if any of these ideas would interest you. If you have any other ideas, send us an e-mail at feedback@eurekaenvironmental. com.

Thank you for your time and have a great day.
