Dear Colleagues,I am involved in the GLOBE program (Global Learning and Observations to Benefit the Environment) co-funded by NASA and NSF. The GLOBE program enlists primary and secondary schools in an effort to increase understanding of the environment, and particularly the interactions among various processes that make up the environment among K-12 students. This is done by providing students and teachers in participating schools with protocols developed by scientists in a range of disciplines related to the environment. These protocols cover climate, soils, land cover and hydrology measurements, among others. If properly followed, the protocols can provide high quality data that would be acceptable for use by scientists.
GLOBE would like to make the scientific community more aware of the potential value of the large volume of data that is being collected by GLOBE students in the US and around the world.
Please visit the GLOBE website at
http://www.globe.gov
and give us feeback!
Thank you very much.
Sincerely,
Jeff Melkonian
