"newspaper series-water as a commodity"

I am a reporter for The Morning Journal newspaper in Lorain, Ohio, U.S.A. Along with three other reporters, I am working on a series of stories about water and the shift from water as a resource to a commodity. We have separated our stories by geograpy to demonstrate how geography affects the use and access to water. My fellow reporters are working on stories on the Great Lakes region and water in the United States. I am looking at water around the work including Iraq and the effects of war, Africa and the scarcity of water, desalination in the Middle East and corporations around the world who control water. I would appreciate any assistance or guidance in my research for these stories.
