"International Instrumented Watershed Symposium (IIWS)"
The International Instrumented Watershed Symposium (IIWS), a symposium focusing on the challenges and logistics of instrumenting a watershed, is being held at the University of Alberta, in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, June 22 - 25, 2004. The Early-Bird deadline is April 30th so please register soon!! The early-bird registration fee is $250 ($50 for students). After April 30th, the registration fee will be $300 ($60 for students). This includes three days of presentations, breakfast and lunch each day, and the banquet dinner (student registration does not include the banquet dinner - students must purchase banquet tickets separately if they plan on attending).

The symposium agenda and all other information is available online at www.osern.rr.ualberta.ca/IIWS.htm or please see attached brochure.

Speakers from instrumented watershed networks in Australia, Germany, Sweden, The United States and Canada will be speaking about their research, and including the following symposium topics:

The design, logistics and infrastructure of watershed (including choosing site location)

Integrating different disciplines

The specifics of instrumentation (types, their use, the challenges/horror stories) and climate (i.e. cold climates - the challenges)

Are researchers getting the answers they thought they would?

The overall challenges of instrumenting a watershed for your specific goal

We hope to see you in Edmonton this June!

Please forward this message onto others who may be interested in the IIWS.
