Job description
Risk Management Solutions develops stochastic models for assessment of the financial risk due to catastrophic events such as windstorms, floods and earthquakes. We are looking for a Lead Flood Modeller to join the Climate Hazards team in our London office as soon as possible. Your primary responsibility will be the development of a large scale river routing and runoff model in collaboration with a group consisting of people with backgrounds in statistics, mathematics, meteorology, engineering and geography. You will also be involved in storm surge modelling and have opportunities to be involved in the modelling of other climate hazards.Required skills
PhD or MSc in engineering, hydrology or physics. Solid knowledge of fluid dynamics and the theory behind river routing and runoff modelling combined with practical experience in implementing such models. Experience in numerical modelling and strong programming skills are required, preferably in C . You will also need excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to work well in a team environment.
