"seeking post doctoral opportunities"
I am a scientist from Central Soil & Water Conservation Research & Training Institute, Research Centre, VASAD. This institute is under Indian council of Agricultural Research, Min. of Agriculture, Govt. of India.

I received Ph.D.Degree from Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur in year 2003. My thesis title is " Soil Moisture Distribution under a Point Source Emitter: Development and Application of Mathematical Models" . The topic includes the movement of moisture under a point source considering plant water extraction in a hysteresis affected soil in multi-layered configuration.

At present I am working on a project as principal investigator entitled "Effect of conservation structures on groundwater recharge" . The basic aim of the project is to assess the potential recharge taking from different water harvesting/ storage structures and their contribution to groundwater system i.e the interaction on a watershed basis. Beside this, groundwater quality aspects are also being studied on a monthly basis in the whole watershed.
My proficiency in the relevant areas are as follows:
Computer/Mathematical skills:
Programming in Languages C and FORTRAN
experience in numerical methods predominantly used in water resources modeling, like FEM, FDM, and seeking analytical solution to PDE (Parabolic and elliptic, never worked on hyperbolic situations)
Familiar with environments like WINDOWS 9x/NT/2000/XP, UNIX, LINUX(Redhat)
Application software : (Skill from good to moderately good)
o Statistical : SYSTAT 8.0, STAISTICA v5.0
o Mathematical : MATLAB
o Modeling (hydrological) : VS2DTI (transport module water and solute), HYDRUS-2D/SWMS-2D/, RETC, ROSETTA
o Geostatistical analysis : GEOAS, VARIOWIN, SURFER
o Mapping : SURFER 8.0

Developed programmes (Language C)(Ph.D.):
o STEADYFEM (DOS based):

Steady state finite element model to simulate soil moisture distribution under a point source emitter in variable antecedent soil moisture condition in hysteresis affected multi-layered soil including dynamic two-dimensional root growth with water extraction.

o WAARICK (DOS based): Unsteady analytical model developed by Warrick (1974) to simulate soil moisture distribution under multiple point sources emitter with parametric modification to introduce AMC condition, hysteresis in soil with multi-layered configurations.

If any members can help me find an opprtunity of post doctoral feloowship in the field of sub-surface and groundwater hydrology kindly contact me at the following e-mail address. (I have got Some modeling experience on surface hydrology too using FEM (HRU based)not grid based)
