"Grain Size to K values using Sauerbrei Equation"
I am looking for guidance in deciding when to use the Sauerbrei equation to estimate hydraulic conductivity from grain-size data. Specifically, what percentage of the sandy material must have a grain size greater than 0.5 mm. Does anyone have experimental or imperical data to suggest when the Sauerbrei equation can be used.

Tbanks.

Brian,

That's a new one for me. Can you tell me where this equation comes from?

Thanks,

Roger
